About

The forensic division of PDR

PDR was founded in the UK in 1985 by Philip Gibbs, David Lowrie and Roger Gibbs, and launched its first pioneering infrared system in 1987. Almost 40 years on, more than 5,000 PDR systems have been supplied worldwide, across the aerospace, defence, automotive, research and electronics industries.

PDR Forensics is the dedicated forensic division of the company. It applies four decades of focused infrared engineering to forensic electronics: removing semiconductor components from damaged and locked devices, transferring components to donor boards, and replacing damaged surface-mount components, so that reading can follow using the laboratory’s own validated tools.

Position in the workflow: PDR prepares the hardware. Reading and analysis are performed by the laboratory using its own validated tools.
